The photo archive is devoted to the preservation & presentation of digital photographs of the history of Lorain. The archive began in 1999 with a generous grant from the Nord Family Foundation to preserve 600+ glass plate negatives. In 2001, BRHS received a grant from The Stocker Foundation to continue this work with other subject areas from the more than 13,000 photographs in The Society's collection.

As we digitize more and more of the collection, expect changes to this area of the web site.

There are two methods you may use to access the collection: a search engine where you may type in search queries and view the results or a brand new image term index, arranged in alphabetical order. We would appreciate any and all of your comments or suggestions.
