REMEMBERING CHARLES J. BERRY
In cooperation with the Lorain Public Library, we have set up a display honoring Charles J. Berry. Berry is a war hero from Lorain who would have been 85 years old in May, 2008. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his courageous actions of jumping on a grenade to shield the lives of his fellow soldiers at Iwo Jima. The Library has loaned us several items for the display including the Medal of Honor. Lorain's Bascule Bridge is named in honor of Charles J. Berry.
