Admiral Ernest J. King

After the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, Admiral King became Commander in Chief, U.S. Fleet and later was named Chief of Naval Operations. As a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral King attended important meetings between the Allies in World War II. This is a picture of Admiral King at the Atlantic Charter conference in 1941. He's in the middle between President Roosevelt and Winston Churchill. The Atlantic Charter formed the basis of the United Nations Charter.
