Lofton R. Henderson, who was nicknamed "Joe", was born in Lorain on May 24, 1903. His parents were Mr. & Mrs. Fred Henderson. His father worked in the shipyards. Lofton graduated from Lorain High School in 1921. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with Honors in 1925 and became a pilot. This picture is of Lofton in his uniform.
