City Field was a park in the middle of the city at 14th Street and Washington Avenue. It was the site where football and baseball teams played. It was also home to a municipal outdoor ice-skating rink that was used in the winter. It was renamed Pawlak Field in memory of a Lorain Police Chief named Frank Pawlak. He was active in sports, especially with the football and baseball teams for St. Marys church.
