At the east end of Lakeview Park was a section reserved for lawn bowling, which is the second oldest sport in the world, after archery. The bowling green was created in the early 1930's. The balls, called "bowls", are thrown underhanded by participants, to see which ball can get closest to a white ball in the middle of the rink called the jack. The game consists of 21 ends, which means 21 trips up and back on the rink. After 21, the team with the most points accumulated, wins.
